The mandate of the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo includes giving back to the community where opportunities exist. We make every effort to host local events between festivals, contribute to local school /community music programs and foster the dreams of aspiring artists. Supplies and services required to host the festival, are purchased locally wherever possible, and we encourage our audience to support local businesses while attending our event. Examples include:
- Multiple donations to local school music programs including donations towards the purchase of instruments, hosting live musical performances in schools, partnerships to host school Music Camps.
- Hosting live performances within the community in addition to the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo. For example, in River Cruises (pictured below), live performances at local restaurants as part of our Supper Series, Spotlight: Saint John River Valley features local youth at the community bandstand, Picnic in the Park which features a taste of Friday night in the Festival Tent, and much more.
- Including local aspiring, emerging and professional artists in our programming. For example, the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo includes “Future Stars” (local youth) performance spots during our festival. Emerging and professional artists with roots in our community are included in our programming each year. Pictured below is Spotlight: Saint John River Valley featuring local youth at the Perth-Andover community bandstand.
- Friday of festival week, the Perth-Andover Public Library hosts a children’s performer and/or workshop free of charge. In addition to this, we have a family tent on festival grounds which features a children’s performer and a workshop Saturday afternoon. Pictured below is Coach Patt in the family tent.
Keep checking our schedule for free live performances and workshops throughout the community!
